I wanted to give you an update on some goings on here at the Kitsap County HIV AIDS Foundation. This year we were presented with the challenge of losing our entire food program because of state budget cuts. We’ve been working hard to create and fund a new program to start delivery in April.

You can help out by joining us for dinner. Dining Out For Life is Thursday, April 29th at participating restaurants. We’ve been busy meeting with Kitsap County restaurateurs to encourage them to participate. Check out our website and Facebook page for updates. We hope you will join us for dinner.

We have just hired Linsey Mayhew to head up our youth program. She is part time but is having an incredible impact already. We continue to have an impact on local youth and school climates through our partnerships with the Kitsap Safe Schools Network. Seeing on the news that a Mississippi school would cancel their student’s prom rather than let two students of the same gender attend together make me proud of the good work here is Kitsap County. Our youth program is also facing state budget cuts in our upcoming contract renewal.

We are grateful for your support.

Michael
